DAY 1 — JESUS IS GOD’S PROMISED SON
Hey parents! If we haven’t already met, my name is Vivian Benzon and I serve as the Preschool and Kids Minister at the Church at Woodbine. We’ve had such a great first day of VBS, and we’re excited to give you a quick look at what your kids experienced today at Illumination Station.
This week, we’re inviting kids to discover who Jesus really is. While many people think of Jesus as just a good teacher or someone from history, we’re helping kids see that He is so much more.
Today, we looked at Matthew 16 where Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Our spotlight question was “Who is Jesus?” and kids learned that Jesus is God’s promised Son, the Messiah.
As we introduced our theme, kids saw how light helps us see clearly. In the same way, Jesus shines light on who God is and who we are. He is the light who brings hope to a dark world.
We also want to remind you about our missions offering this week. We’re helping provide Jesus Storybook Bibles to children in Liberia so more kids can hear the Good News and know who Jesus really is.
We can’t wait for tomorrow as we continue shining a light on who Jesus is!

VBS Missions Offering
This year, our VBS Missions Offering will help provide Jesus Storybook Bibles to children in hospitals across Africa. Through our partner Bethany Kids, these Bibles are given to kids in their own language, helping them and their families discover who Jesus is and grow in faith together.
Every gift helps share the gospel in a simple, powerful way, bringing hope to children and families and pointing them to Jesus.

VBS Family Celebration
Join us on Thursday, July 16, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on the lawn for a fun end-of-VBS fellowship event with dinner, bounce houses, and family-friendly activities. This is a great opportunity for VBS families to connect, celebrate a meaningful week, and continue building community together.
